I'M WITH HER IN THE CLASSROOM

WE ARE HERE TO JOIN A CONVERSATION WITH YOUNG PEOPLE

One of Australia’s leading experts in teaching challenging texts to school students, VANA WATKINS, has created Teaching Notes to equip teachers with tailored strategies to bring I'M WITH HER into the classroom, and exercises for exploring it with their students.

VANA WATKINS is a teacher of English and Head of Department at Geelong Grammar School who relishes the vitality and variety of working with young people and their responses to texts. She is a regular presenter at State and National Conferences for English teachers, and has composed online teaching resources for The Garret podcast series and Reading Australia. She is a member of the VATE Professional Learning and Research Committee, VCAA Text Advisory Panel (English) and a VCE assessor. She is particularly interested in matters of text selection and exploring challenging and sensitive texts with students. She has taught senior secondary English and Literature in both Victoria and Tasmania. She has completed a Master’s in Education at the University of Tasmania, focusing on global education, educational leadership and research.

Thanks to the Australian Cultural Fund and a small army of the play's supporters, these notes are  available to download and use for free.
